The Japan Geotourism Association is a voluntary organization established in June 2021.
The reason for the establishment was to hold an event called Geopark Online & Guide Study Group, which combines an online tour and a seminar, with the name of the organization suitable for it as the host organization. Originally, this event was planned by a group called Geo-Biz, which is centered on professional geoguides, and the establishment of Geo-Biz began in June 2018. We continued our activities under the mission of exchanging information and exchanging information between professional guides, establishing a business centered on guides, and aiming to realize a sustainable society that coexists with the earth. As we proceeded with the activities, we were convinced that we could sell guide training courses and contents by collecting the skills of various members, so we changed the name of the organization to the Japan Geotourism Association and held a trial seminar. I was planning to try. However, in the Corona disaster from 2020, not only the activities of the group but also the work of each has stagnated.
The Geopark Online & Guide Study Group is an idea that came up during discussions online to overcome this situation. It is a shift in the idea of actually visiting the Geopark, experiencing the program of the local guide, and holding an event online where the guides interact and exchange information.
The Geopark Online & Guide Study Group consists of two parts: the first part where geoguides who are active all over the country conduct online tours, and the second part where guides discuss the contents of the online tour with each other based on the TORE theory. It is being carried out. The TORE theory has been adopted in the field of interpretation in recent years, and is important as a technology that conveys the four elements of T (Thematic), O (Organized), R (Relevant), and E (Enjoyable). This Geopark Online & Guide Study Group will be held once a month from July 2021 and will be held 12 times in total until June 2022.
In the future, we would like to recruit members who will actively and actively participate in the activities, and create a place for co-creation in which various projects are accidentally launched from among the members. Currently, the projects that are moving include video distribution or text-based content distribution related to improving the skills of guides, and "Geo Bar", which is a place for online dialogue.
