[MIS20-P01] Summary of the 5 Years Activities of the Project on the Interaction of the solid Earth and the Antarctic Ice Sheet
Keywords:Glacial Isostatic Adjustment, Ice sheet changes, Sea level rise, East Antarctica
Thus far, we have been conducting several field surveys in Antarctica, e.g., absolute gravity measurements, GNSS measurements, lake sediment coring, topographic surveys, geomorphological and other surveys near Japanese Syowa station and other foreign research stations as well. In parallel with these observations, we also have been conducting GIA model analyses, satellite data analyses, and ground data analyses. These results have been reported at the previous JpGU meetings and other opportunities.
The year 2020 and 2021 activities were unfortunately quite limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of field surveys were cancelled, and there were a lot of inconveniences to conduct the research works. While some of the research activities will be continued in 2022 financial year to recover the delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we report the summary of the 5 years activities and the results in this presentation.
