Many schools in Japan are exposed to various natural hazards. School disaster management has a duty of care to the children, who are tender and vulnerable. In Japan, School Health and Safety Act requires a school to have a health and safety policy. Preparation for natural disaster can be assured by preparing an effective emergency response plan and undertaking all associated activities (e.g. training, exercising, reviewing and so on).
This report will create an overview of actual condition and social issues of school resilience focused on emergency response plan.
