[O08-P24] Are Paper Products as Alternatives Really Environmentally Friendly?

Recently, plastic products have been replaced by paper products as one of the efforts to remove plastics. However, we wondered if efforts to remove plastics were really good for environment. We thought that paper products are good for environment because they deteriorate due to water currents and become paper shards and easily return to nature. In this research, we focused on deterioration and conducted experiments.
In the experiment, glass beads were placed in a vegetable cutter containing water, and they were regarded as ocean currents and sea sand, respectively, to reproduce the crushing caused by the shore, which is one of the causes of deterioration. As test piece, we selected drawing papers, paper cups and plastic cups.
