[O08-P42] Night to see the rainbow
The moonbow is a phenomenon in which a rainbow is cast by the light of the moon.It is a very rare meteorological phenomenon, but it is known to be seen all over Japan under the right conditions. Therefore, in this study, we conducted an experiment for the purpose of verifying the conditions under which the moonbow can be observed. We assumed that the mechanism of moonbow generation is the same as that of a normal rainbow, and after investigating the mechanism, we investigated a method of generating a rainbow using an incandescent light bulb adjusted to the brightness of moonlight as a light source. Then, although it was not possible to narrow down the detailed conditions, it was possible to observe light with the characteristics of a rainbow. From this, it is thought that a rainbow will occur even if the amount of light is not as high as that of sunlight, so I would like to continue observing the moonbow by conducting more accurate experiments.
