[O08-P72] Solar power and weather conditions

*Ryota Yamada1 (1.Tokyo Metropolitan Tachikawa High School)

Keywords:Solar power generation , Python

In order to investigate how weather conditions relate to the amount of electricity generated by the school's solar panels, we analyzed and discussed the data on electricity generation collected from the school's solar panels using Python and Excel. The total amount of electricity generated and the amount of electricity generated per minute (= total amount of electricity generated/daylight hours) are greatly affected by weather conditions. In particular, on rainy or snowy days, the amount of electricity generated is lower than on sunny days due to less solar radiation. The amount of electricity generated per minute is not as large as the total amount of electricity generated. The maximum is not seen in the summer when solar radiation is high.
