[O08-P80] Consideration of neutron irradiation method that maximizes the amount of α rays generated in BNCT
Keywords:radiation therapy, neutron
BNCT is a therapy that selectively kills tumor cells with alpha particles and other particles produced by the nuclear reaction between 10B and neutrons. It is said to be effective in treating cancers compared to conventional therapies, and is attracting attention as a next-generation cancer treatment method. However, there are many challenges to its practical application. We focused on the irradiation system and conducted a simulation of the energy at which α-particles are generated the most. This is because we figured the more alpha particles produced, the higher the dose to the lesion. We will present the results of the simulation and comparison with previous studies.
