Earthquake and its secondary disasters are the most serious natural disasters causing casualties and economic losses. The earthquake prodiction is a difficult scientific problem up to now. The key question is to extract the abnormal form observation data and to find correlation bewteen the abnormal and the earthquake. It is necessary to use the scientific method to extract the abnormal information, which is related to the seismic anomaly and its correlation, The effectiveness of its application in earthquake prediction test is verified by earthquake.
Electromagnetic method is considered to be one of the most effective methods to observe earthquake precursor anomalies. The earthquake prediction subsystem of the "Wireless ElectroMagnet of extremely low frequency Project" has established an control source extremely low frequency(CSELF) electromagnetic observation network composed of 30 CSELF electromagnetic observatories in the southern section of the North-South seismic belt and the surrounding Beijing in China. The perfect observation mode and a large number of original data and data products have enhanced the ability to capture electromagnetic anomalies related earyhquake. It is one of the most advanced seismic electromagnetic observation platform in the world.
Since the establishment of CSELF electromagnetic network stations in 2015, a large amount of data including artificial and natural electromagnetic signals have been observed. All the data are automatically processed by the observatory server to form EDI data files including power spectrum and magnetotelluric response. The time series files and EDI files observed every day are transmitted to the CSELF electromagnetic data center through the network.
Analysing the electromagnetic response, field power spectrum and time series of electromagnetic field of stations before earthquake, it is found that they are different for some typical earthquake precursors. For example, the anomaly of apparent resistance before the earthquake shows intermittent increase or decrease, which occurs 3 months to a few days before the earthquake; The anomaly of magnetic field power spectrum is enhanced, which occurs from one month before the earthquake to the onset of the earthquake; The time series of electromagnetic field shows beaded pulsation, which occurs about ten minutes before the earthquake, and can be used as an impending earthquake information.
The electromagnetic response anomaly before the earthquake is local and affected by stress, its anomaly range may follow the Dobrovolsky earthquake deformation anomaly area radius r = 10 * * (0.43*M); The abnormal range of electromagnetic field power spectrum is larger than that of magnetotelluric response, which may be related to the electromagnetic radiation distance produced by micro rupture before earthquake. The abnormal range of electromagnetic time series of impending earthquake is the largest, which may be related to the superimposed electromagnetic effect caused by a large number of impending micro fractures.
