The JpGU Committee for Diversity Management and Talent Pool was established in September 2015 by merging the Gender Equality Committee and the Career Path Support Committee. The committee's policy is "to respect diversity in all things and to create an organization where everyone involved in JpGU can conduct research and educational activities in a comfortable environment and no one is discriminated against based on any attributes and characters. In this presentation, we will introduce the purpose and outline of the activities undertaken by the JpGU Committee for Diversity Management and Talent Pool.

The main activities: Organizing sessions related to diversity promotion and to outreach activities for science career support at the JpGU Meeting, Introduction and trial use of the DEI logo, Online career consultation and career support workshop, Building a childcare system, providing information, and support for childcare fees during the JpGU Meeting, Collaborative activities with AGU and EGU, Various survey activities, Activities related to the The Japan Inter-Society Liaison Association Committee for Promoting Equal Participation of Men and Women in Science and Engineering (EPMEWSE): Young career development WG, Large-scale surveys on gender equality in STEM WG, etc., Cooperation with a non-profit organization of ‘STEM Career Path Project for Girls’, Collaborate with the JpGU Global Strategy Committee (Global Geoscience Society Task Team).
