★Invited Papers
Keywords:PEPS, Impact factor, CiteScore
Here, we will introduce the current status of PEPS and issues to be improved. The 2020 Impact Factor and Cite Score of PEPS were 3.604 and 4.7, respectively. PEPS achieved an increase of total 400 K downloads in 2021 from 296 K downloads in 2020, which indicates improvement of recognition in the world geoscience community. This year we introduced several actions to promote submission further such as encouragement of synthesis article by addition of this article type into the review paper category and creation of a new category of comment articles. We started to introduce the editors’ choice articles in the JpGU mail news and PEPS’s twitter. We published an abstract book by compiling review papers published in PEPS, and presented in our website, and advertised by using the JpGU mail news. We encourage you to use this abstract book for your research and education purposes (*). We are planning to promote valuable reviews from member societies and excellent experts, since it is an important task of PEPS to contribute to improving performance of research and education of our community. We have several issues that need to be considered in the future, such as introduction of the PEPS most citation prize and data repository for submitted articles.
