[U07-P02] Overseas research in the UK during pandemic
Overseas research has been one of the vital career tracks for early-career researchers, helping build and accelerate international collaborative research. Being awarded with the International Tenure Track system led by University of Tsukuba, as part of the program for promoting the enhancement of research universities by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the author visited the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom and conducted overseas collaborative research on the earthquake source physics and environmental seismology during 2020 March to 2022 March. The visiting schedule was obviously (and unexpectedly) overlapping with the COVID-19 pandemic periods. The pandemic brought difficulties in carrying out international collaboration in the conventional in-person ways, but also opened a window to exploring a way to efficiently promote discussion and keep (or even accelerate) productivity. In the meeting, I will wrap up how I conducted overseas research in the UK during the pandemic, which will hopefully be helpful for the international collaborative research activity even in the post pandemic.
