On-site poster schedule(2023/5/21 17:15-18:45)

The current Kuroshio Large Meander that started in August 2017 is the longest event in the observed record, and it remains ongoing as of October 2022. At the time of the JpGU 2023 meeting, it will be interesting to see if this event breaks records or if it is over. The current Large Meander is behaving very interesting way, e.g., a massive eddy separation in October 2020. In addition, there are strong public interests in the impacts of the Kuroshio Large Meander on fisheries, atmosphere, and other phenomena along the coast. However, the Kuroshio Large Meander and its impacts have not yet been well investigated and therefore require further study. This session aims to discuss various research results related to the Kuroshio Large Meander (e.g., the trends, dynamics, impacts, comparison with past examples of the Kuroshio Large Meander, and so on), and presentations from a variety of perspectives in the fields of ocean physics, biology, chemistry, and atmosphere will be welcomed.
