Optic fiber sensing measurement for strain, vibration, and thermal data acquisitions is applied not only in engineering and exploration geophysics as a developer, but also in research fields of earth science, including seismology, geodesy, and volcanology. These techniques, such as DAS, DSS, and DTS, provide high performance, achieving the high-density and high-sensitive measurements for onshore/offshore earth science observations that overwhelm conventional measurements. On the other hand, there are issues in performing integrated analysis of optical fiber sensing strain data with velocity/acceleration seismographs. The goals of this session are to contribute to the development of earth science based on sharing and discussing ideas on observations, methods for analyzing data, and broad studies related to the applications, which can mutually help advance each study with respect to optic fiber sensing.
