Siberia is one of the regions where temperature increases have been most pronounced in recent years due to climate change. Thus, monitoring of the surface environment is strongly needed. Although the land cover is one of the most fundamental variables, large uncertainties still remain. Thus, a reliable land cover product for Siberia is required. In this study, we created a new land cover product for Siberia by fusing widely used global land cover products. To validate land cover data, we used a multi-source validation dataset. Firstly, we evaluated available land cover datasets using a multi-source validation dataset to check their accuracy and understand overall characteristics of each land cover product. Secondly, we applied three approaches, the mode and two fuzzy methods to integrate those land cover products by assigning a rule of fuzzy algorithm. Finally, the new fusion product of land cover in Siberia was obtained from the best results of the three methods. The new fused product obtained in this study provides a targeted reference for terrestrial environmental studies in Siberia and provides data support for exploring changes in vegetation and the carbon cycle.
