Capabilities of ICT (Information and Communication Technology), IoT (Internet of Things), Data Science, AI (Artificial Intelligence) become increasingly important. Accordingly, background knowledges of them are required for students. We therefore developed new experiments in "Physics Laboratory" for fourth-year students at Kagoshima KOSEN (National Institute of Technology, Kagoshima College). The new experiments are “Analysis of Solar Wind Data”, “Measurement of Light Spectrum”, and “Relationship between atmospheric pressure and altitude”. Students gain experience in ICT/IoT and Data Science through the experiments. In addition, they can also gain knowledge of Earth and Planetary Sciences because the measuring and analyzing data in the experiments are solar wind, light spectrum, and atmospheric pressure.
Our follow-up survey after the experiment showed that most of the students were satisfied with the experiments. We also confirmed that the most of them understood the content of the experiments and became more interested in field of Earth and Planetary Science.
