[G03-P03] Utilization of the digital globe software Dagik Earth in classrooms with one device per student

Dagik Earth is a digital globe software that is mainly used for the three-dimensional presentation of the Earth and planetary science data with a PC projector and a spherical screen. It is developed in collaboration between scientists in universities and research institutes, and educators in schools and science museums. It is also a powerful educational tool for classes with one ICT device per student. The number of contents of Dagik Earth is more than 150, and there are several contents that have data for each day. Each student can select and display the content on their own ICT device, such as PC or tablet. For example, global cloud data from geostationary meteorological satellites have been generated for each day after 2000. By selecting a day, such as their birthday, each learner can view the clouds on different days on their own terminals, and learn about seasonal differences in weather by comparing the characteristics read from the different data, such as typhoons and clouds over Japan. Utilization of the digital globe software Dagik Earth in classrooms with one device per student is introduced and discussed.
