[G03-P08] Special science classes of drilling and observation of a sediment core in the elementary school of Tokyo Lowland, Tokyo metropolitan area

The Tokyo Lowland of Tokyo metropolitan area is especially vulnerable to natural disasters, so we must grow self-help skills for children here. Special classes of drilling and observation of a sediment core were done in the elementary school, to construct a science-educational system using a standard sediment core. Holocene incised-valley fill 12 m long was drilled in June 2023 and children observed operation. After stratigraphy and chronology of the core was confirmed, we set a special 45 minutes classes in November that children observed the core. Children showed positive action and comments. Another drilling and special classes will be done for several years later in the Adachi City.
