[HCG23-02] A contribution to the development of high-resolution climate-gridded temperature, precipitation dataset for Vietnam from 1981-2019

In this study, we created a brand-new high spatial resolution dataset for Vietnam that includes temperature at 2m and precipitation. The dataset spans the period 1981–2019 in monthly temporal resolution and 9km spatial resolution. By using the Cressman interpolation technique, it had been blended from reanalysis data, ERA5-Land with 128 and 63 in-situ data. The new dataset's meteorological data is significantly better than some regional databases and climate models. In hopes of contributing to more comprehensive next-generation datasets, relevant experiences in the process of developing datasets through interpolation will additionally be highlighted through some influencing factors.
