[HCG24-P02] Qualitative research on re-adaptation from closed environment to daily life
★Invited Papers
Keywords:Psychology, Closed environment
Research on re-adaptation to daily life after being released from a closed or special environment and after being released from a mission is scarce. According to Noguchi (2021), after returning from space, there are cases of mental illness and adjustment disorder due to the inability to find an alternative goal to the mission. Noguchi and Yano (2020) also point out that various experiences in space cause flashbacks in daily life.
Astronauts and other people working in special environments tend to focus on the conditions in which they are placed in special environments, but for them, the time they spend in their daily lives afterward is much longer. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of consistent psychological support by exploring the process of their return to daily life and their goals for the next mission.
As a research method, semi-structured interviews will be conducted with those who have lived in a closed environment in the past. The voice data will be recorded verbatim, and then analyzed using the analysis method used in qualitative analysis (TEM: multiple pathways and isochronous point model).
