[HQR03-P05] Coastal plain progradation in MIS 5c in the eastern parts of the Kanto Plain, central Japan

*Hiroko Okazaki1, Hiroomi Nakazato2, Toru Tamura3,4 (1.Fukada Geological Institute, 2.National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, 3.Geological Survey of Japan, AIST, 4.Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, University of Tokyo)

Keywords:MIS5c, the eastern parts of the Kanto Plain, coastal plain, sedimentary facies

The Iioka Plateau in Chiba Prefecture and the Kashima/Namekata Plateaus in Ibaraki Prefecture, located on the eastern parts of the Kanto Plain, contain marine terrace surfaces that have been considered MIS (marine oxygen isotope stage) 5e. However, these were formed by the progradation of MIS 5c (and 5a) coastal plains based on a new stratigraphy combining tephrochronology and OSL ages (Nakazato et al., 2016; Okazaki et al., 2022; Tamura et al., 2022 ). In this report, we present the developmental pattern of the progradation of these coastal plains based on the differences in the sedimentary facies of each plateau.
