[MIS01-P18] Influence of tree age and disturbance history on tree climate sensitivity in Korean Pine forests
Keywords:tree ring, disturbance event, climate sensitivity, Korean pine, Russian Far East
Along with the large-scale influence of climatic factors, disturbances may lead to changes in local tree climatic sensitivity due to changes in competition, light conditions, redistribution of soil moisture microelements, etc. Despite the development of research on disturbance regimes in mixed coniferous forests of East Asia in the last decade, to date there are only sporadic papers on the relationship between tree annual ring widths and climatic factors in Russia. However, at present, it is not clear how ecosystem disturbances resulting from the death of individual trees affect the climatic sensitivity of nearby growing trees.
In our study we analyzed how the history of local disturbances under different conditions affects the climate sensitivity of conifers of the Russian Far East. We used the individual-oriented approach via standard dendroecological and dendroclimatological methods to analyze the full spectrum of tree ring responses to climate. According our data it is more objectively reflects the sensitivity of forest ecosystems compared to analyzing most sensitive trees.
