[MIS04-12] Atmospheric electric field monitoring in China and its relationship with ionospheric perturbations before earthquakes
キーワード:Atmospheric electric field, LAI coupling mechanism, Ionospheric disturbances
There are about 50 stations in China to monitoring the atmospheric electric field (AEF) in China, and in 2019, a denser network was constructed with 30 points in Sichuan province, southwest China, to illustrate its regional spatial distributions. It is known that AEF is heavily affected by meteorological factors, including charged cloud, strong wind, lightning, rainfall, sand storm, etc. Here the general background was summarized and the typical phenomena with meteorological factors were exhibited. After removing these interferences, the anomalies in clear days were analyzed around a few earthquakes in China mainland. In addition, the ionospheric perturbations were compared at the same time, such as foF2 from ionosonde, TEC from GPS receiver, Ne from satellite. The relationship between AEF and ionospheric plasma parameters was discussed with the coupling models. It is concluded that, (1) AEF mainly showed decreasing variations before earthquake, illustrating the upward electric field and accumulation of positive charges at the epicentral region; (2) Multi-station anomalies or those along the same active fault can improve their reliability; (3) Part ionospheric disturbances were confirmed by AEF variations at the same region in same day, but there still exists controversies that needs further investigations.
