[O06-P01] Reconstructing the weather of the Edo period using weather descriptions in the Inatsuka family Diary

In the previous year, we analyzed the Edo period the"Nakamura Heizaemon Diary" (Kitakyushu, 1812-1866) and found that the "precipitation occurrence rate" of the diary was influenced by the "detail rate" (Sho et al., 2017), which measures the accuracy of weather records, and the data obtained showed potential for quantitative analysis.
Last year, quantitative precipitation occurrence rates prior to instrumental observations were recovered using regression analysis in conjunction with the "Misa Oba Diary" (Tokyo/Setagaya 1860-1904) and data from the Tokyo Meteorological Observatory since 1875, when observations by the observatory began. The period of restoration was 15 years from 1860 to 1874.
In this fiscal year, we have reconstructed the precipitation occurrence rate in the "Inatsuka Family Diary" (1758-1912) written in the Ikeda City, Osaka, from the mid-Edo period to the end of the Meiji period, using regression analysis, and have confirmed that the rate has been gradually increasing from the mid-Edo period to the end of the Meiji period.
