[O06-P13] The Cause of Cracks on the Floors of Suwa Seiryo High School

*Miyuki Kasai1 (1. Suwa Seiryo High School)

There is a level difference of about 10 mm on the floor, acrossing the aisle of the school building. We built up hypotheses that the crack appears because of the topographies of the nearby faults or underground water veins. Aside from this, the bumps sometimes occur on the floor of the student entrance. The purpose of this study is to find out the cause of the crack on the floor and to confirm whether the cracks on the aisle and the bumps in the student entrance are related. We looked up the faults and soil under the school in a geomap and looked for similar cracks in the city around and the hill behind. In addition, having improved the method, we are continuing to measure the level difference of the crack on the aisle. We concluded that our hypotheses are not correct, but we need more data from long-term research. Then, we have built a new hypothesis: the cause of the crack and the bumps are artifacts such as concrete and tiles of the building.
