[O06-P55] Tracing the transition of microplastics (MP) from sediment of a reservoir

*Mao Itoh1, *Yuki Suzuki1, *Miona Koida1 (1. Kakogawahigashi hs)

Keywords:Microplastics, Reservoir, Environment

Microplastics (MP) take a very long time to decompose and are deposited on the seabed, riverbeds, and in lakes and ponds. Previous studies on MP have focused on MP on the water surface, and there are few examples of MP transitions in the vertical direction. In addition, even if the transition in the vertical direction is observed, only comparative surveys have been conducted in three categories in the 1900s, 1950s, and 2000s, and the sampling interval is rough. We collected sediments vertically from a reservoir with a known age in the Higashi-Harima area and clarified the transition of MP contained in the reservoir every decade.
