Keywords:tsunami, disaster prevention, mutual assistance, ICP-AES, ground water
Tsunami disasters caused by the Okinawa trough earthquake are expected on Yoron Island in Kagoshima. Yoron Island is known to consist of several terraced hills, and there are also fault cliffs, so the height difference within the island is large. Given these geographical features, it is important to take appropriate tsunami measures in Yoron Island, where many elderly people live. In order to propose countermeasures against tsunami damage in Yoron Island, this study conducted topographical and geochemical survey on Yoron Island, and revealed problems during tsunami evacuation in Yoron Island through literature surveys and interview surveys. In addition, this study proposed the development of an original Yoron Island emergency bag called "Idaida Pouch." This is expected to lead to an improvement in disaster prevention awareness in Yoron Island.
