[PCG18-P15] Mission to the Moon —Simulation and Design of the All-sky Electrostatic Analyzer
Keywords:SIMION, all-sky, Moon , electron, plasma
The research is to design an all-sky electrostatic analyzer that can be used to measure the three-dimensional plasma on the lunar surface. The energy range of electrons that can be measured is ~10 eV - 10 keV. The aperture of the analyzer reaches ~90°in the vertical direction and a sweeping high voltage is added to make the field of view cover 2π solid angle. In this study, we use SIMION to simulate electron trajectories. The simulation and design of the instrument is divided into two parts. First, changing the shape and size of the electrodes, the size of the channel, and the voltage to find out the best specifications of the payload. Second, change the energy and angle of the incident particles to obtain the energy versus angle response diagram, and find out the energy resolution and angle resolution. Finally, we can find out the g-factor of the payload.
