The impact of Super Typhoon Chanthu on the ionosphere is investigated using low-latitude TEC observations. The temporal variations of TEC, ROT, ROTI are calculated using data from Madrigal database to illustrate the ionospheric disturbances in the low-latitude regions during Typhoon Chanthu. The amplitude, period, and velocity of the Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances (TIDs) induced by the gravity waves generated by Typhoon Chandhu are further analyzed using the high-resolution data from Central Weather Bureau. We find that the bandpass-filtered TEC disturbance varies between -0.2 and 0.2 TECu with a period of 10 minutes and speed of 127 m/s. These preliminary results imply that the energy transfer from low-altitude atmosphere to ionosphere can occur through upward-propagating gravity waves during Typhoon events.
