[PEM14-08] Jet-like Solar Transients and 3He-rich Solar Energetic Particle Events Observed by Solar Orbiter
キーワード:Solar Energetic Particles, Coronal Jets, UV Radiation, Radio Emission, Ionic Composition
The origin of impulsive or 3He-rich solar energetic particle (SEP) events is still not well-understood, largely because their solar sources are elusive. Apart from their association with type III radio bursts and near-relativistic electron events, it has been advocated that coronal jets may be responsible for 3He-rich SEP events. We revisited the link of the two phenomena in 3He-rich SEP events well observed by Solar Orbiter in May 2021. The transient phenomena associated with 3He-rich SEP events did not necessarily look like a classic jet that consists of a footpoint brightening and a spire, but they belonged to jets in a broader definition. There were many more jets than the individual ion injections, and the question remained whether small jets not associated with type III bursts could also contribute to the enhancement of 3He. These frequent jets, revealed only in EUV images with high cadence, may explain long-lasting periods of 3He enhancement without clear injections. Here we extend the study to different periods, where 3He-rich SEP events were observed by Solar Orbiter closer to the Sun. We discuss further challenges in understanding the role of coronal jets in the production of 3He-rich SEP events.
