In general, mineral exploration cannot be separated from identification of hydrothermally altered rocks. In early stage of exploration where potential area is still vast, early prediction of potentially altered rocks is important as it might cut down the exploration cost. In this paper, result of logistic regression algorithm for predicting hydrothermally altered rocks in Ciemas area, west java as a preliminary step to narrow down exploration target area is presented. Prediction with inputs of terrain, slope, lithology, geological structures, and location of known altered rocks is able to show distribution of altered rocks along major fault in the area. The prediction was also confirmed by site visit conducted later.
