[M-IS13] Atmospheric electricity: Application of technology for reducing disaster risks
Tue. May 28, 2024 4:45 PM - 5:00 PM 101 (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)
The session of Atmospheric electricity will focus on lightning discharge phenomena and various physical phenomena related to lightning discharges, which are one of the core fields of atmospheric electricity and will call for research results with their application to disaster prevention. This session will consist of invited presentations introducing above-mentioned fields by leading experts and contributed presentations on the latest observational and theoretical research results in these fields. For example, we welcome lightning physics, lightning observation technology, electrical effects of thunderstorms, and lightning related phenomena such as the mesospheric transient luminous events (TLEs), and lightning-related high-energy phenomena that have been actively studied in recent years. We certainly welcome papers regarding all topics on atmospheric electricity including global electric circuit, ion and fair-weather electricity, lightning protection, terrestrial electromagnetic noise environment including wave propagation in the magnetosphere and ionosphere.
