convener:Kazuhisa Goto(Department of Earth and Planetary Science, The University of Tokyo), James Goff(University of New South Wales), Atsuko Yamazaki(Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University), Mie Ichihara(Earthquake Research Institute, University of Tokyo), Chairperson:Mie Ichihara(Earthquake Research Institute, University of Tokyo), Atsuko Yamazaki(Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University)

Paleoenvironment, paleoclimate, and paleohazards in the Pacific Islands are of great interest not only to Earth Scientists but also to many other disciplines such as anthropologists and archaeologists. However, because of its high degree of interdisciplinarity, it is often not easy to grasp the overall picture. The main target of this session is to welcome any researchers who have worked on Holocene events in the Pacific Islands to contribute and share their findings.
