[S-VC28] Hydrothermal systems of volcanoes

Thu. May 30, 2024 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM Convention Hall (CH-A) (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Yasuhiro Fujimitsu(Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University), Wataru Kanda(Multidisciplinary Resilience Research Center, Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology), Muga Yaguchi(Meteorological Research Institute, JMA), Chairperson:Muga Yaguchi(Meteorological Research Institute, JMA), Wataru Kanda(Multidisciplinary Resilience Research Center, Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology)

There is a diversity of hydrothermal systems between magmas and the ground surface in various geoscientific environments. Understanding of the hydrothermal systems contributes to understanding of the earth systems, and is essential for utilization of geothermal energy and prediction of volcanic eruption. In this session, we will discuss the topics on subsurface structures and heat and fluid flows of "hydrothermal systems of volcanoes" from the perspectives of geophysics, geochemistry, geology and geothermal reservoir engineering. Any research approaches, theoretical, observational and experimental, are welcome.
