[ACG35-11] The influence of the Madden-Julian Oscillation on the photosynthetic activities revealed by the OCO-2/-3 observations
キーワード:solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, Maritime Continents, Intraseasonal variability
The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) is the most dominant intraseasonal variability in the tropical rainfall. The weather patterns associated with the MJO have direct impacts on the terrestrial photosynthetic activities. Here I discuss an MJO-related variability in the solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) over the Maritime Continents as well as other land regions that are influenced by the MJO, as observed by the NASA Orbiting Carbon Observatory (OCO) 2 and 3 satellite instruments. I will combine this SIF variability with similar variabilities in carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) to infer the connectivity between the atmosphere and the carbon cycle on the intraseasonal timescale.
