Keywords:agricultural water management, network optimization, frequency domain

Agricultural water management is critical task due to unevenly temporal and spatial distribution in Taiwan. In recent years, the task is increasingly challenging resulting from extreme drought events occurring more and more frequently. This study aims to simulate the agricultural water distributing systems as a network optimization problem. Nevertheless, traditional network structure is limited by deterministic flow amount such that the water distributing scheme needs to be decomposed into temporal segments. In this study, the water supply and demand information are treated as function of time, and then these functions are transformed into frequency domain to optimize the distributional plan of agricultural water. The optimization tasks in individual time segments could thus be integrated. The water storage infrastructure could provide support to each other via the connecting network while the extreme drought events occur.
