[EV16-01] pGU Super Lesson: Measurement with small spectrometer
Reflectance spectra contain a wide range of information and have great potential value in remote sensing using satellites and drones. For example, obtaining detailed reflectance measurements can help to understand mineral types, atmospheric and oceanic pollution, vegetation types and disease damages. In this lesson, after a brief review of the principles of spectroscopy, participants will practice how to analyse reflection spectra by measuring familiar plants and minerals outdoors using the small spectrometer provided (or indoors, depending on the weather). Spectrometers will be lent out. How to make your own spectrometer will also be introduced.
