In this interview a high-profile foreign researcher active in the Japanese Earth and space science community discusses their work and experiences of working in Japan. The interview will be followed by a question and answer time. It is hoped this event will be of interest both to those involved in promoting internationalization of Japanese academia and foreign researchers considering a career in Japanese academia. This year's interviewee will be Marc Humblet of Nagoya University. Marc is a carbonate sedimentologist with particular interest in coral reefs ancient and modern.
Marc is from Belgium and has long experience working in Japan. The interviewer will be Simon Wallis of the University of Tokyo, who is a structural geologist and vice-president of JpGU.
