[HSC07-16] Introduction of JX‘s initiatives for CCS in Japan

JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration is one of Japanese hydrocarbon E&P companies in Japan. Recognizing “Energy Transition” and a role as a member of ENEOS Group – one of the major CO2 emitters in Japan, we have commenced searching for potential CCS sites in western Japan. In 2023, we have been selected as one of the 7 “Japanese Advanced CCS Projects” by JOGMEC/METI, and various studies are ongoing to achieve the project start-up in 2030.
We will introduce the outline of the project and discuss some of the issues we have encountered.
