[MIS06-02] Changes in "hotter and wetter" events across China
キーワード:extreme weather, hotter and wetter event, requency and intensity, warming
As global warming intensifies, efforts to understand changes in extreme climate events have increased in recent years. Combine analysis of changes in extreme temperature and precipitation event is examined in this paper. Using observed data from 1961-2015a, a set of hotter and wetter (HW) event is defined, and we further examine its changes over China. The results are as follows:(1) More HW events in central and eastern China than that in other sub-regions, especially in South China (SC). Increased rate of HW event is 2.7 and 1.9/10a in SC and East China (EC), respectively. (2)In China, most of HW events have been observed to be widely occurring in resent 20 years, which indicates China has entered a period of high-frequency. Indeed, range of anomalies in torrential rain is wider than high-temperature in Northwest China (NWC), Central China (CC), and EC after the mid-to-late 1990s. The opposite is found in Northeast China (NEC), Southwest China-region 1 (SWC1), Southwest China-region 2 (SWC2), and SC. (3)Finally, increasing HW events are closely associated with warming in the most regions of China.
