Keywords:Earth observation, Remote sensing, Disaster

One of the most important applications of earth observation satellites is to assess the situation during disasters. This presentation will introduce various satellites and sensors, both domestic and international, that are suitable for disaster monitoring. In particular, the characteristics of optical and SAR sensors and the information they can provide will be explained. Using actual past disasters as examples, the presentation will introduce the observation results of various Earth observation satellites and confirm the usefulness and potential of Earth observation satellites in disaster situations. In addition, Earth observation images taken after a disaster should be used promptly afterwards. This presentation will introduce the systems related to the release and use of images taken after a disaster.
