Tue. May 27, 2025 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM Exhibition Hall Special Setting (4) (Exhibition Hall 7&8, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Masaru Inatsu(Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University), Tetsuya Takemi(Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University), Hiroyuki Kusaka(University of Tsukuba), Chairperson:Masaru Inatsu(Faculty of Science, Hokkaido University)

This session will focus on various studies that contribute to society, based on the fundamental research areas in meteorology, such as dynamics, atmospheric radiation, cloud physics, and boundary-layer meteorology and so on. We welcome a wide range of topics, including climate change prediction and countermeasures/adaptation strategies, atmospheric environmental studies focusing on atmospheric aerosols, technologies for disaster prevention and mitigation against meteorological hazards, the meteorological data application to agriculture and the energy sector, and urban climate including the heat island phenomenon. The session also encourages research on the industrial applications of meteorological data and the latest technologies such as machine learning. The aim of this session is to explore new perspectives by discussing how to utilize meteorological knowledge in society, with an emphasis on collaboration with institutions and companies related to meteorology and various fields of Earth and Planetary Sciences.
