[M-GI31] Earth and planetary informatics and data utilization

Tue. May 27, 2025 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM Convention Hall (CH-A) (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Susumu Nonogaki(Geological Survey of Japan, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Ken T. Murata(National Institute of Information and Communications Technology), Keiichiro Fukazawa(Research Institute for Humanity and Nature), Yukari Kido(Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology), Chairperson:Susumu Nonogaki(Geological Survey of Japan, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), Ken T. Murata(National Institute of Information and Communications Technology)

The numerical data generated by observations and numerical analyses in the Earth sciences are becoming increasingly complex as observational techniques become more sophisticated and computational scales increase. The aim of this session is to discuss from a broad perspective the technologies for observing, measuring, transmitting, collecting, analysing, storing and publishing data in the fields of Geoinformatics. Information on the use of open science data, such as Open Science and Open Data in recent years, will also be shared from a variety of fields, from which we hope to stimulate discussions on the development of integrated technologies. Presentations are not restricted to specific topics, but proposals from the point of view of actual observations, numerical calculations and data use expected from geoinformatics and data-driven science are also welcome.
