Volcanic phenomena such as pyroclastic flows and tephra falls occurred during volcanic eruptions cause loss of human lives and destroy social infrastructures. Atmospheric phenomena such as giant typhoons, tornadoes, torrential rainfall caused by organized cumulonimbus clouds are also examples of extreme phenomena. Because these extreme phenomena develop rapidly and occur locally, we may not be able to capture them by ordinary observation networks. In recent years, the development of multi-sensing technology has been underway to monitor these phenomena. We will discuss the status of multi-sensing technology conducted in the fields of volcanology and meteorology and will demonstrate what has been revealed by the multi sensing.
