[S-VC35] Hydrothermal systems of volcanoes

Sun. May 25, 2025 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM Convention Hall (CH-B) (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Yasuhiro Fujimitsu(Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University), Wataru Kanda(Multidisciplinary Resilience Research Center, Institute of Integrated Research, Institute of Science Tokyo), Muga Yaguchi(Meteorological Research Institute, JMA), Chairperson:Yasuhiro Fujimitsu(Department of Earth Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kyushu University), Muga Yaguchi(Meteorological Research Institute, JMA)

There is a diversity of hydrothermal systems between magmas and the ground surface in various geoscientific environments. Understanding of the hydrothermal systems contributes to understanding of the earth systems, and is essential for utilization of geothermal energy and prediction of volcanic eruption. In this session, we will discuss the topics on subsurface structures and heat and fluid flows of "hydrothermal systems of volcanoes" from the perspectives of geophysics, geochemistry, geology and geothermal reservoir engineering. Any research approaches, theoretical, observational and experimental, are welcome.
