Promoting inclusion in the knowledge societies is essential and one of the best strategic approaches to tackle complex problems in these difficult ages. In this session, we aim at discussing various issues related inclusion and fairness in the earth science field and to share information on efforts, progresses and challenges.
To promote inclusion and fairness, universities and research institutes in Japan has been promoting affirmative action, but progress is slow. We would like to share information on best practices from different countries and discuss effective measures for the future.
We welcome all initiatives and suggestions related to inclusion from academic societies, universities, funding organizations, research groups, and individuals.
