Effective communication is crucial in knowledge creation and sharing. As geoscientists increasingly work across language and cultural boundaries in their research, outreach and education activities, it is important to identify, assess and share innovative approaches to addressing communication challenges. In this session, we survey effective strategies that professional organizations have used to co-create and share geoscience knowledge in multilingual initiatives and contexts. To help promote accessibility and develop best practices, we welcome contributions and case studies from our diverse communities and partners to co-build a knowledge base for this strategically important topic in geoscience as a global enterprise. We will explore how professional organisations in geosciences and related disciplines can provide strategic leadership and work in partnership to nurture an inclusive culture in research, outreach and education activities that transcend language and cultural boundaries.
