In this study, we explore the effect of artificially introducing water into the atmosphere prior to a rainfall event with the goal of mitigating its intensity. The premise is that by increasing local humidity, we can encourage cloud formation and rainfall. By strategically timing the introduction of water, it may be possible to induce rainfall over the ocean, thereby reducing the amount of rainfall reaching land. To test this concept, we simulate the 2014 Hiroshima event, which recorded over 200 mm of rainfall in three hours. Artificial water is applied at different times and at distinct oceanic locations, varying in distance from the expected heavy rainfall area. The results of this study may provide valuable insights into the feasibility of this method of artificially inducing rainfall, contributing to improved disaster management strategies and optimized water resource management practices that could benefit society.
