[AHW22-P12] Risk Assessment of Slope Hazards in Remote Mountainous Settlements in Taiwan

*PEI RU WANG1 (1. Chienkuo Technology University, Taiwan)

キーワード:Slopeland disasters, Risk management, Smart disaster prevention

Heavy rains caused by extreme weather often cause severe slope disasters that affect mountain settlements. Such disasters result in human casualties and property damage and lead to major social effects. Therefore, conducting risk assessments and implementing smart prevention measures for slopeland disasters are crucial. In this project, telemetry images and data pertaining to hydrological, cultural, and physiographic factors were collected across multiple time periods in Ren-Ai Township, Nantou County. Subsequently, this information was used to establish a characteristic factor database. This database was integrated with big data and artificial intelligence technologies (e.g., data mining and geographic information systems (GISs) to assess the risk of slopeland disasters and enhance disaster response capabilities. Through the use of a GIS to create maps of potential slopeland disasters, a sediment risk dashboard and a dynamic rainfall management module were developed for the study area. These tools were employed to analyze the vulnerability of catchment areas and identify hot spots at risk of slopeland disasters. Through the use of smart disaster prevention technologies, disaster response capabilities can be enhanced and through improved preparation, prevention, and response for slopeland disasters.
