[AOS16-06] SINTEX-F2 with PISCES "SINTEX-F2bio" -preliminary results of the spin-up run-.

The SINTEX-F2 seasonal climate prediction system has demonstrated high performance in predicting ENSO and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). In this study, a European biogeochemical (BGC) model "PICSCE" was activated on the SINTEX-F2 system (here referred to as "SINTEX-F2bio") in order to predict the response of BGC variables (e.g. carbon, alkalinity, oxygen, nitrate) to ENSO and IOD. As a first step of such a research stream, we evaluated the performance of the 32-year spin-up run, in which the model sea surface temperatures are strongly nudged to the observed monthly climatology. We computed the annual mean and the monthly climatology from the last 5 years of the outputs and compared them with some observational datasets (WOA2023,GODAP, SeaWiFs, etc). Although there are some biases in the tropical eastern Pacific (HNLC region), the performance of the tropical Indian Ocean and the tropical western Pacific looks reasonable.
