Outline:
Reflectance spectra contain a wide variety of information and have great potential value in remote sensing using satellites and drones. For example, detailed spectral measurements can help us understand mineral types, atmospheric and oceanic pollution, vegetation types, and disease damage.
In this lesson, participants will use the provided portable spectrometers to measure common plants and minerals, and gain practical experience in the principles of reflectance spectra, spectrometer operation, and spectral analysis.
